All weddings, including the most modest ones cost some money. Many couples are always left wondering how they will cater for their wedding expenses, and still spare some money to enjoy their honeymoons.

This however, is not the story for Daniel Makau and his fiancée Beatrice Muthoni. The couple have won an all-expense paid wedding and honeymoon package, courtesy of Maisha Magic East and Sarova Hotels, Resort and Game Lodges.

The couple, who submitted their entry following the announcement of the competition last month managed to clinch the top position after battling it out with 13 other couples. The two impressed a panel of judges who comprised of the most sought after wedding planners in the country.

The consortium of the four leading wedding companies include Fatema Bhaiji from Aura Event Planners,  Christopher Kirwa from Cate Chris Limited, Dorothy Kimweli from House of Dotty and Chemtai Chamia and Alex Chamia from Bloomingdale Event Planners.

I gave my fiancé a promise ring to signify that I will keep all the promises I have made to her from today henceforth. The ring, I said in passing, would also be a promise that we would win the competition. And we did. We are so overwhelmed and cannot thank Maisha Magic East enough for this great surprise. Now we have two less things to worry about as we wait for our perfect wedding,” said the excited couple.

The 14 couples, who were shortlisted for the competition, will feature in the reality show, Our Perfect Wedding, which is set to premier on November 3 on Maisha Magic East DStv and GOtv Channel

The programme will follow the 14 Kenyan couples through their love story and wedding planning process. As it brings forth all the spectacle that comes with getting the perfect dress, the perfect venue and perfect cake; not forgetting the dramatic  in-laws and the traditional ceremonies that have to be concluded before the bride can walk down the aisle.
