MIXOLOGIST YVONNE WAIRIMU TO REPRESENT AFRICA AT THE ANNUAL TALES OF THE COCKTAIL

Pernod Ricard Kenya has announce that its very own in-house mixologist Yvonne Wairimu will represent Africa at the annual prestigious Tales of the Cocktail a premier series of cocktail festivals.

Yvonne has worked within the local bartending industry for more than 15 years and is one of the female pioneers focused on raising the consumer experience.

Her award winning cocktails won her the title prize at the Professional Mixology Challenge in 2012.  And since then has gone on to work closely with a selection of international bartenders coming to Kenya as well travelling to Sweden the home of Absolut Vodka, developing her skill set under the tutelage of the master distillers.

In a heavily male dominated industry, Yvonne a young mother has garnered a reputation for being widely regarded and respected within the industry.  She has proven time and again that females can excel and bring creativity to the mixology scene.

This year’s edition of Cocktail Apprentice Program (CAP) 2 will be held in New Orleans, USA. A cohort of apprentices will hail from 10 countries including Kenya, Greece, China, Ghana, Canada, and the Cayman Islands.

Sponsored by Pernod Ricard, this program gives 40 accomplished and up-and-coming bartenders the opportunity to learn alongside some of the world’s most respected experts as they work the seminars and large-scale events at Tales, New Orleans.
