JOHNSON MWAKAZI TALKS ABOUT HIS BATTLE WITH PORN ADDICTION

By  |

Former Citizen TV news anchor Johnston Mwakazi has opened up on his battle with pornographic addiction, in an interview with Radio Jambo he also talked about growing up in Kibera and losing his parents, “I am the last born in family of 7, I was raised by my mother in Kibera but she passed away 2006 that’s when step father adopted me.

My addiction to pornography began in class 8 when a fellow classmate in Kibera invited me to watch a ‘movie’ and offered to pay for it. After I watched it I got addicted then I got some money and I also invited someone else.

My mother never knew, I remember the first time after I watched I could not look at my mother in her eyes. But there was something inside me which told me it was not right. When I joined Form 1 one of my teachers said in class what we were watching was bad that’s when I realised what I was doing was wrong.

After knowing God I knew he loves me the way I am so I made a decision not to watch TV for three month, in Kibera money was tight so I could not afford to watch it all the time so it was easy. But now look at the internet and you will find married men addicted to it, such video will make you horny but it is not a normal way.

We know there are days when a woman is not able to satisfy her husband because of other things but when you have watched porn and she tells you this you can become an animal.

As man you have been given brains to think and you are suppose to be the leader but if in your office most of the time you are busy watching porn, when will you find time to think about your children and this country ? That why we have people with dirty minds.”

Mwakazi has been married for nine years now and has two children.
