MASAI MARA MARATHON

The 7th Edition of the Masai Mara Marathon was scheduled to take place at the Lemek Conservancy in the Maasai Mara. It saw local and international participants massively participate in the marathon as for the last three years the Marathon continues to grow in leaps and bounds.

The annual race gave the marathon participants and sponsors that rare and memorable privilege of racing in the jungle, all the while, sampling the panoramic reserve with wild animals in the vicinity. Maasai Mara National Reserve is renowned both for its spell-binding menu of natural beauty sites and as a valuable source of economic revenue through tourism.
The funds raised will support conservation of the Mara National reserve as well as community-based projects around, construction of a state-of-the-art dormitory for Aitong primary school and Namunyak Girls Secondary School. The event was top up with an after party in the wild with performances from top local artistes Vivian, Timmy and Kaligraph Jones while Big Ted emceed the event.
