BIG KEV’S FUNDRAISER RAISES SH7.2 MILLION (PHOTOS)
Entertainment industry bigwigs converged at the Carnivore, for an initiative to raise funds for Big Kev. The Tru Blaq’s CEO who has been battling a recurrent head tumour, which resulted in the loss of eyesight late last year. And just as with showbiz, everything was done in style. Hundreds of celebrities showed up for the Tembea Na Big Kev initiative raising Sh7.2million.
Everyone dug deep into their pockets to raise funds, with an entrant of Sh10,000 per person. And although the man of the hour was unable to attend the event, his wife, Tracy, was present and gave a vote of thanks. Several celebrities also took to social media, including Nameless, who shared his love for Big Kev, saying, “With the fam at #tembeanabigkev fundraising dinner…pips have come through for a brother!!”
The Sinzia hit maker also added, “It is such a touching night to see everyone come through for Big Kev.”
Also adding his voice was Shaffie Weru, who posted, “To all family and friends who came through @bigkevkenya fundraiser dinner #tembeanabigkev #showyourlove4bigkev Salute @kiss100kenya #teamshaffie #teamadelle #theraverendslife”.
The entertainers have set Sh20 million as their target, urging those willing to contribute to send their pay bill number 880100 through account number 7839240019.
Redsan, Nameless, Frasha, Nonini, Atemi, Dan Chizi Aceda, Chris Adwar and Kidum crowned the black tie themed fundraiser performing the same song he sung to Big Kev before his most recent surgery. The event emcees were Jalang’o and Big Ted.
