RUTH MATETE’S HUSBAND LAID TO REST AT LANGATA CEMETERY (PHOTOS)

Ruth Matete’s husband Blessed John Apewajoye has been buried at the Langata Cemetery.

The gospel artist was allowed to bury her husband, whose body has been lying at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) Mortuary since April.

The burial was attended by 25 people including her father, the Nigerian High Commission representative and the Nigerian family representative.

“We are glad that she has been able to lay her husband to rest and that after our gallant efforts the embassy was able to finally legally release the body for burial. Time and investigations have proved my client’s innocence.

She was judged harshly but she has stood strong and now she can mourn in peace. The DCI have officially indicated that she was never a suspect and investigations done has revealed that this was an accident and she is a victim who is still seeking justice.

We urge Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) to also conclude its investigations and guarantee the safety of millions of Kenyans who use this kind of gas cylinders. Today its her tomorrow it might be someone else,” her lawyer Robert Odanga told Buzz Central.
