OUR 13 YEARS OF FRIENDSHIP LED TO MARRIAGE-KALONZO MUSYOKA

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has talked about his wife Pauline for the first time. Speaking on Story Yangu, Kalonzo revealed rare details of his marriage and family life.

The politician said he met his wife in high school, “I met my wife Pauline in form 2 and I was in form 5 at a Christian conference in 1972, she was the secretary for a Christian Students body at Mulango Girls while I was in Meru School. She was a beautiful, tall, smart woman with long hair and I saw a beautiful wife was a gift from God.  

She used to come and visit me at the University and my roommate was Bishop Njuguna, he promised to officiated our wedding and true to his word, he did, at All Saints Cathedral on December 14 1985, the same year I became a member of parliament.”

The father of four says he was friends with his wife for 13 years before they tied the knot, “We knew each other for 13 years and we were good friends. When we welcomed our firstborn baby, I was by her side in the hospital. For the birth of our third born and fourth born I was late and they were in a hurry.”

After 2017 elections, he took time off to take care of his wife, “After 2017 election, when we decided, we were not going to get involved in the re-elections, I forgot about it and took my wife to hospital. Because I believe if I was sick my wife will take care of me.”

Kalonzo also said his wife has always been supportive, “She took her voters card in Mwingi North in 1983 before we got married.  She believed in me, when she came home as a newlywed. She used to cook for a lot of people. At one time people ate all the food and she was about to collapse in the kitchen, I had to pull her out.”
