‘MAKE MILLIONS’ JOE MUCHIRI ADVISES KENYAN ARTISTES TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ELECTION PERIOD
Former Capital FM producer Joe Muchiri has urged Kenyan artistes to take advantage of the elections period, especially during the campaigns. In a lengthy post, he noted that politicians are most likely to use hit songs during the campaign periods, urging artistes to demand for millions if their songs will be used.
“That time, that time of the year when they use your music, talent or art to campaign for themselves. I am here to tell you, take money from politicians but demand good money. Artistes who ask for 40,000 – 50,000 style up, ask for millions,” he wrote.
Muchiri noted that the elections period should help artistes change their lives, arguing that money used to run political campaigns are proceeds of corruption and stolen taxpayers money. He, however, advised his fans to make them right decision while voting as the artiste is just working. “The next one year it’s your right to make it, change your life and your family, remember that the stolen money is our parents taxes and yours too.
But also remember as young people we are voting them out like a nonsense. You are casting the vote alone and tell your followers and fans to make a good decision, and just tell them you’re working. Take the money, wear cheap t-shirts and hats they print abroad not giving young guys the job,” added Muchiri.
This came a day after former Prime Minister Raila Odinga lauded musician Mejja for his creativity in songwriting. In a tweet made on his official Twitter page, the ODM leader noted that he related to the song lyrics, where Mejja sings about Kenyans’ poor time management.
“Mejja’s Tabia za Wakenya hit was playing somewhere this morning and it got me thinking it is true! Masaa na mkenya lazima atachelewa lakini sherehe? Our musicians are very creative. Wonderful week ahead fellow countrymen,” wrote Raila.
