JB MASANDUKU SPEAKS ON MARRYING EX-WIFE TINA KAGGIA 11 DAYS AFTER MEETING HER
Comedian and media personality JB Masanduku shared the reason why he married his ex-wife, Tina Kaggia 11 days after meeting her. Speaking in an interview, Masanduku disclosed that he met Tina while they were both working at Radio Africa.
He said their relationship started as a joke after she dared him to say they were engaged,” The first time I went to Kiss FM offices was when I saw Tina. I was at Kiss and she was at Classic, one day she waved at me and after that is when Churchill introduced me to her. That is how our journey started. She dared me to say we were engaged and we decided to get married 11 days later,” Masanduku said.
The two tied the knot at the Attorney General’s office (AG), “She gave me her number and I called her and she invited me to Ngong. I told my family we needed to go for a ruracio but they advised me to take my time. My family was like you should know someone for at least two years. As the family was considering whether they would pay dowry or not we went to the AG. We were told we needed a 21-day notice but we said it was an emergency. I felt like if I did not marry her someone else would take her away. After a while, we went for the ruracio and made it official.”
Masanduku also disclosed how he spent Sh1 million in 11 days while crisscrossing East Africa and used most of the money on alcohol and women. “I had money, so I had to travel in style. You know how expensive the yellow airport taxis are? I instructed the taxi driver to take me to the most expensive club in town, not the best but the most expensive. When I reached my destination, I gifted the driver my brand new phone which I had bought at Sh112,000- as a token of appreciation,” he said.
While in Uganda, the comedian entered a club where he bought alcohol for all the revellers, “Whoever is drinking beer, give them five more bottles, whoever is drinking wine, give them two more bottles, whoever is taking shots, give them a bottle, I will pay the bill. Once everyone was served and after paying the bill, to my surprise I still had a lot of money in the form of Ugandan currency. I was surrounded by a number of revellers, and in the process someone stole Sh300,000,” he narrated.
After his escapade in Uganda, JB travelled to Rwanda then Burundi where he spent the rest of the money and was left with only Sh12. “I rode a motorbike from my hotel to the Melchior Ndadaye International Airport in Bujumbura because I was unable to pay the boda boda guy since I only had Sh12 bob. I decided to pay him with all the alcohol I had bought in different countries,” he revealed.
