LIZZ NJAGAH TALKS RELOCATING TO GREECE AND RAISING KIDS IN A NEW COUNTRY
Popular actress Lizz Njagah, has shared the reason why she relocated to Greece with her husband Alex Konstantaras.
Lizz says things were not working in Kenya and they needed a break, “We had been trying to do movies but some things were not working out, we were pitching to different companies and we weren’t getting accepted. We were here paying rent and other bills and in Greece we don’t pay rent or school fees and it made more sense to move there and we can also continue to create there. But also it was just to take a break because things were not working out at the time and the other main reason, my son was six months and it is better to raise a family there.
She said the hardest thing to adopt in Greece was the language, “The Greek language was the hardest to adopt, I have been there for six years and I am still not comfortable talking Greek, it’s really horrible,” she added.
Njagah disclosed that her biggest fear was raising black kids in Greece, “My biggest fear living in Greece was raising my kids there, I was like would they be accepted? But where we live in Thessaloniki is so welcoming I even wonder why I was so worried. Of the six years that my son has been on this earth, he has been really happy and generally accepted. I think it was an unfounded worry but I still have to prepare them to be aware that some people might treat them differently because of the colour of their skin.”
