CHURCHILL SHOW COMEDIAN CONSUMATOR TURNED CARETAKER BEGS KENYANS FOR FINANCIAL HELP
Former Churchill Show comedian Peter Wamwea, alias Consumator has begged Kenyans to help him get a job or an opportunity to progress with his comedy career after it hit a wall following the outbreak of Covid 19.
Taking to Instagram, the comedian narrated that life had taken a toll on him, and he is currently doing menial jobs such as ploughing and slashing grasses for people in his neighbourhood to make ends meet. He says that he can take any job because he aims to raise enough money to cover the medical expenses of his sickly father, ailing from prostate cancer.
“Guys, I have no problem being a caretaker. I do it with happiness and a smile. I have no problem at all doing vibarua kwa shamba. Anything that would help me raise whatever money for my dad’s illness, I will do it with stride and gratitude. I have been raised in a village with a lot of struggles, and I understand things do happen. This story is about those small painful steps we require to take, sometimes, in order to make ends meet. Even when we are at our rock bottom, we must do all it takes to survive.” He wrote.
In an interview with Tuko, Consumator had disclosed that he was broke as he had used up all the money he had saved to cater for his father’s hospital bill. He says that he was even kicked out of the house that he rented, and his efforts to reach comedy industry players have not bore no fruits.
“As the family’s breadwinner, I used all my savings on my dad’s treatment. After undergoing surgery, he has been going for checkups at least once a week. I had to sell everything I had in my house to pay for my dad’s treatment,” he said.
“I’ve lost many friends and no longer talk. When I was down, even my friends from the comedy industry didn’t help me. I’ve been trying to make a comeback in the comedy industry, but it has been a tough journey,” the comic added.
