TATIANA KARANJA ON CHOOSING CAESAREAN SECTION AND CO-PARENTING WITH BABY DADDY WAYNE MUTISO
It’s a baby girl again! Kenyan YouTuber and photographer Tatiana Karanja, popularly known as Mama Olive, is in her last trimester and expecting to receive her bundle of joy soon.
In a question and answer session with her fans on Instagram, the mother of two cute girls disclosed that she was upset when she first learned that she was heavy with a baby girl because she had pinned her hopes on getting a son, but nature played out against her.
“At first, I was a bit disappointed because I really wanted a boy this time. I thought a boy would be a nice change of pace, plus I wanted a little Wayne, but that went away real quick.” She wrote.
Mama Olive added that despite the disappointment, she has come to terms with it and the advantage is that; after getting a baby girl, she will spend less on her clothing and toys as she will mostly reuse those of her siblings – Olive and Marley.
The mum-be mother revealed that she will undergo Caesarean section (CS), “It’s not by choice. I have a low-lying placenta. If I had a choice, I would go for natural birth.”
Tatiana is currently preparing for the CS surgery, and she said that she is a little bit tense about the procedure and she is scared of spinal anaesthesia, a type of neuraxial anaesthesia in which local anaesthesia is injected into the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in the lumbar spine to anaesthetise nerves that exit the spinal cord.
“I am a little bit nervous, some days a lot more than others. Not looking forward to potential pain (I hear so many different stories) but also trying to be positive! I am very scared about spinal anaesthesia but excited to have a little baby.”
The Q&A session could not end without a follower inquiring about her current relationship with her baby daddy, Wayne. The fan asked, ‘Do the girls get to see their dad?‘ and Mama Olive was quick to assert her stand when it comes to broken unions and children. She said that despite their relationship hitting the rocks, they struggle to give their children the best mom and dad care by not involving them in their relationship wrangles.
“I am a big believer that whatever happens in a relationship should not affect parents’ relationship with their kids. I would never let my feelings get in the way of my kids’ relationship with their dad. Period!”
