‘OFFICIALLY FREE!’ ALI KIBA’S WIFE CELEBRATES DIVORCE

Bongo Flava singer Ali Kiba and his Kenyan wife, Amina Khalef are officially divorced. In an Instagram update on October 11, Amina celebrated being free, she posted a photo of a bird flying away from a cage with its door open and captioned, “officially free.” She also deleted all the photos of the singer from her social media accounts.

In February this year, news of their divorce hit the headlines when documents emerged revealing Ali Kiba had been given 15 days to respond to the suit, Amina asked for Sh200,000 a month upkeep as terms for the divorce.

She also accused him of being abusive while alleging the musician did not provide any maintenance or prenatal care during her pregnancy with their firstborn and he remained largely uninterested in his child’s wellbeing and hers. As per the papers filed at the Mombasa Kadhi’s court, she claimed the marriage is irretrievably broken, hence the need to get it over and done with once and for all.

Ali Kiba and Amina tied the knot in 2018 at an exquisite Muslim wedding held at Majid Ummul Kulthium mosques in Mombasa and later had an invite-only wedding in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
