BRIDGET SHIGHADI CONFIRMS BREAK UP WITH NICK MUTUMA

Actress Bridget Shighadi has confirmed that her relationship with actor Nick Mutuma is over .

In a Q&A session on her Insta stories, the mother of one said she is single, “I love my life lowkey and private but things changed after acting, can’t be truly yourself in public anymore without being judged,” she wrote.

In February 2021, Mutuma opened up on their 10-year relationship. Nick disclosed although he has been in countless films and programmes that feature romantic love scenes, he and Bridget were not comfortable doing such roles anymore, “2008 I was in Tabasamu and played a role where I was dating a sugar mummy, at the time, it was tricky and there was a lot of tension, my grandmother didn’t like it. I was in the university and she didn’t understand why I was doing it on TV.

But for me it was important, I explained to them that I was acting and it was not real life. Most things on TV are mechanical so we have to pretend to make it real. Me and Bridget have been together for a long time and now she is acting in Maria as Sophia, initially, it was an issue when I played certain roles.

Right now, we don’t do some roles because of the respect we have for each other and what we want to build as a couple. As a man acting those roles was fun but now imagining my partner doing the same thing, there is that double standard, but at least I’m honest.”
