MELVIN ALUSA ON RECONCILING WITH HIS DAD
Popular actor Melvin Alusa talked to Buzz Central about reconciling with his father after years of not seeing eye to eye.
Speaking in an interview with Cheptoek Boyo, Alusa said their problems started when he was a teenager, “My father and I had challenges growing up but now being a father and being his age at the time I understand. The social and financial pressures on a man to provide can be quite daunting. If you don’t know any better it can tilt you off and the child does not understand. There was a time we were not good but we reconciled and we are now on good terms. It’s a chapter that we closed.”
Melvin encouraged fathers to foster positive relationships with their sons, “The biggest injustice to society is when fathers and sons don’t see eye to eye because there is a lot of wealth and wisdom in a father to make a son’s journey easier, better and faster to navigate. It’s so spiritual when that relationship is attacked to stall men. When men break down, the society breaks. I’m trying to bring my sons close so that they may navigate life in a better way and avoid certain pitfalls.”
