ELSA MAJIMBO OPENS UP ABOUT FALLOUT WITH NAOMI CAMPBELL

Renowned Kenyan influencer Elsa Majimbo recently shared insights into the reasons behind her decision to end her friendship with supermodel Naomi Campbell. 

Majimbo took to her TikTok account to disclose that their initial meeting occurred in Nairobi, where Naomi had visited for a shopping trip. “In December 2020, Naomi was coming to Nairobi to do some shopping but she was in some remote area. I texted her and she told me she was in Nairobi and I was so excited to meet her, she was the first celebrity I was going to meet.

She later texted me the location and I went with my brother and we did some shopping and she said the plane taking her back has some couple of free seats if me and my brother would like to come with her on holiday. We had a very nice vacation and Naomi took care of me the entire time.” Majimbo narrated.

Campbell then introduced Majimbo to Hollywood producers to shoot a documentary about her life, “While on the beach, Naomi suggested we do a documentary about me leaving Kenya. She introduced me to a couple of people from Hollywood and I went to see them at the Kempinski hotel in Nairobi.”

Adding, “One of them asked me how I met Naomi and I told her through Instagram. She said Naomi told them that she made my career and I said no. Time goes by and in March 2022, Naomi calls me and she is like ‘Elsa how dare you!’ A year earlier, I had done a documentary about my life and it was debuting at Tribeca Film Festival and she said she will sue me for the rights to the film and win. She asked why I didn’t tell her at the beach about the film and I told her I was star struck.”

Majimbo further said that things took a negative turn, prompting her to extend an apology to Campbell in an attempt to reconcile their differences. “A few months later things started going bad for me. I went and apologised to her and one day she texted and said, ‘stop calling me.’ I started drinking and I wasn’t sure why things were going wrong, I couldn’t put my finger on it. I went to one of our mutual friends and told her to tell Naomi to text me. Naomi texted me and said she let it go, she doest keep grudges.”

Majimbo maintained communication with Naomi for a while, but eventually made the decision to end their friendship. “After that, every single step I took I told Naomi, whether she would reply or not. After some time, I called my mum and said it wasn’t healthy or normal so I decided it was completely healthy to remove myself from the situation. We are not friends or enemies, we are not in association, we are just strangers.”
