COMEDIAN CHIPUKEEZY RESPONDS TO CRITICISM OVER EMCEEING GOVERNMENT EVENTS

Popular comedian and emcee Chipukeezy has responded to criticism regarding his role as an emcee for various government events. 

The outspoken entertainer addressed the backlash, particularly from individuals accusing him of aligning with the government at the expense of social activism. In his response, Chipukeezy made it clear that he will not step down from his emcee roles simply to appease critics, stating that quitting his job to satisfy netizens would be, in his stupid.

“These people are trying to disturb us from the work we are doing. Just know it will be very hard. For someone like me to quit a job to please people online would be stupid. How are you supporting me? I’m an MC; if I’m called for a job, I will not refuse to go because you want to change Kenya,” Chipukeezy said. 

He stated that he respects those who are working towards change but stressed that it is unfair to force him to abandon his job. “If there is a cause you have made to change the country, I wish you well, but just because people are not participating in your cause, don’t start forcing us. Let those bad things that you want to happen to us happen. Make the Kenya that has harmony and a space for everyone, even those you do not agree with.” Chipukeezy concluded by stating that he remains focused on his work and will not be swayed by threats or attempts to undermine his career.
