‘CHEATING SHOULD NOT BE A REASON TO LEAVE’ SARAH KABU ADVISES WOMEN
Sarah Kabu the MD of Bonfire Adventure and the founder of the Virtuous Woman Foundation, recently addressed the challenges faced by married women.
She advised women against leaving their husbands solely due to infidelity. She disclosed that many women have anxiety over their partners’ potential infidelity, “When I’m on holiday, I meet women who are worried about their husbands sneaking off or seeing someone else in another hotel,” she shared.
Kabu encouraged women to reevaluate their priorities, stating, “Cheating should not be one of the reasons we leave men, or we should be worried about our husbands. Let’s worry about other bigger things, than whether he’s cheating or not.”
She suggested that by being ‘unbothered,’ women could shift the dynamics, urging them to prioritise self-respect over constantly seeking approval or validation from their partners. “When you become unbothered, they become worried. How come you are not checking on me? You are not praying for me? So I’m telling women tucheze chini kidogo, we cannot keep chasing them all the time, let men be who they were created to be.“
She also addressed the tendency some women have to idolise their partners, reminding them, “Sometimes I see some women it’s like they are worshiping men and we are told not to have any other gods, in the foundation we are teaching them not to make them gods and worship them more than the almighty God.”
She added, “If your life is not in danger, if you’re not under any threat, he is just having fun, let him be. You know I’ve seen a lot of couples separating nowadays, and I feel that it’s not necessary unless it’s life threatening, there’s no need.”
