VALERIE KIMANI OPENS UP ABOUT DIVORCE, LONELINESS AND FORGIVENESS
Musician and actress Valerie Kimani has candidly shared her journey through divorce, emotional healing, and newfound sense of self-worth.
In a statement, Valerie reflected on the challenges of co-parenting and being away from her children. “The hardest part of getting divorced is being away from my kids. Not all the time. Sometimes I’m grateful for deep rest and the opportunity to pursue other things I love,” she said. “Still, sometimes it just hits me! Having to figure out who I am again without them is scary.”
Valerie described the lessons she has learned during this chapter of her life, “I’ve learned to trust my gut, to take full ownership of my experiences, my emotions, my actions, my words. I’ve learned forgiveness and the ‘subtle art of not giving a f***,’” she shared.
She revealed that taking time off to focus on herself allowed her to reconnect with her inner wisdom and God-given intuition. “I leaned on my coaches to make sense of seemingly impossible things. I accepted help where pride would have otherwise stopped me. I made peace with God when religion tried to chain me.”
Adding, I dare say I’m even happy! I’ve been grieving this decision for a long time, just waiting for the right time to share it. My marriage may be over, but my family is forever. Thank God!”
In February 2018, Valarie introduced the main man in her life through a post on Valentine’s Day, the singer shared a photo of herself and anonymous white man hugging each other, while she is holding his face displaying a gorgeous pearl ring on her ring finger to what is seen as a wedding picture, she captioned “Yes #ii.”
Valerie welcomed her firstborn Zion with musician Eric Wainaina and her second born Zuri and third born Zahara with mzungu husband Will.
