‘MY BOYFRIEND USED TO BEAT ME LIKE A THIEF’ KAMENE GORO SPEAKS OUT

Kiss FM presenter Kamene Goro gave intimate details about an abusive relationship she was in when she was younger, the radio host disclosed her first boyfriend used to physically abuse her.

Speaking on her radio show, Kamene said the society pushes victims back to their abusers, “My first boyfriend used to beat me like a thief. He was beating me like a man. But I want us to change that narrative, being abused is a whole other thing, it does something to your psyche that changes how you look at things, and we cannot fault victims. 

Society makes it normal like What did you do? Did he say sorry? If he apologised then it is okay. What hurts me the most is when someone tries to get out of their situation, and society pushes them back. Some parents even say, ‘you didn’t see your father abusing me?’”

In September this year, Kamene talked about how her ex used to cheat on her, Goro said she forgave him for the first time but the guy cheated on her seven times, “I was a very forgiving person until I found myself being cheated on seven times and I don’t know the other times.” Insisting ladies should leave forgiving to Jesus, “Baby girl, forgiveness tuachie Mungu, please please please!”

She told women forgiveness is a form of acceptance and they shouldn’t condone cheating, “Every time you forgive, you show this person that you accept this bad behavior, you accept to be treated like this, they can do it again and because your heart is in the right place, you will forgive them. Those times are gone, baby girl kaa ngumu, and people will know and respect your boundaries. It’s time to draw a line in the sand baby girl.”
