Cassper Nyovest , arguably Africa’s finest act will headline the inaugural TGR Festival on May 26 at The Ngong Racecourse.

Refiloe Maele Phoolo popularly known as Cassper Nyovest is one of the most prominent figures in South African hip hop scene. He has released three studio albums namely “Tsholofelo”, “Refiloe” and “Thuto”.

Rapper Nyovest is known for his club banging breakthrough hit ‘Doc Shebeleza, has spent a considerable part his career perfecting his versatility and style. He was awarded the “Most Gifted Male”, “Most Gifted Southern Artist”, and “Most Gifted Videos of the Year” at the 2014 Channel O Music Awards.

Cassper who just concluded his Fill-up-the-dome tour, filling the Orlando Stadium with 60,000 people and following it up with a 68,000 audience at the FNB Arena solidifying his  reputation of delivering show stopping stage performances across the continent and the world.

TGR Festival also has a lineup of some of Kenya’s most talented acts. It will be interesting to see whether the sizzling rivalry for hip hop supremacy between Octopizzo  and The OG Khaligraph Jones will come to a boil at the first concert they are going head to head at this year. Another interesting head to head showdown is expected between DJ Protégé and DJ Xclusive both consummate masters of their craft.

Holding it down for the queens is the phenomenal  Fena Gitu and turntablist DJ Malaika. Rounding off the live acts at the concert is Steph Kapela, the voice of new Nairobi and the epitome of vocally versatility. As a rapper and singer, he is Kenya’s best kept secret and The Great Republik cannot wait to introduce him to our audience.
