WILLY PAUL TOP NOMINEE AT HIPIPO MUSIC AWARDS

The nominees for the sixth HiPipo Music Awards have been released. In a broad and diverse list of categories, Kenya’s gospel artiste Willy Paul is among the singers leading with nominations.

He scooped a total of four nominations for Song of The Year Kenya, East Africa Super Hit, East Africa Best Video where he will battle with Sauti Sol’s Melanin and Best East African Collabo alongside Avril and Bahati.

Following closely is Nyashinski and The Band Beca with two nominations while other Kenyan nominees include: Akothee, Femi One, Gabu, Khaligraph Jones, Octopizzo, The Kansoul and Vivian.

This year the awards introduced a music assembly which is a composition of select previous winners, nominees and media personalities among others.

Their vote will contribute 30 percent in seven categories while the rest will be fully decided by the fans vote. The event is set to take place March 17 at Serena Hotel Kampala, Uganda.
