TV PRODUCER JULIET OCHIENG LAUNCHES JEWELLERY LINE AREKE

TV producer Juliet Ochieng in partnership with Cobe Nairobi has launched a new jewellery line Areke.

Speaking to Buzz Central she said, “I wanted to design pieces that stand out to the modern bold African woman. We used recycled materials like bones and wood and natural materials like brass, sisal and leather. We included the community mostly based in Kibera in conjunction with Cobe Nairobi because we wanted to include the local hardworking communities and expose their abilities.”

The jewellery line is dedicated to her mom and dad, “I chose the name Areke which is my father’s clans name and I got most of my creative abilities from him. I also have a line dedicated to my late mom Nyaoke which signifies warrior for me coz she went to war everyday for the six of us after my father passed on.”
