PINKY GHELANI OPENS UP ABOUT HER MOM’S STROKE
UNHCR influencer and media personality Pinky Ghelani celebrated her mom’s birthday on Sunday June 24 by posting her photo on Instagram. She opened up about her mom talking about the stroke she suffered and prayed for her recovery. It was emotional to read what Pinky had shared and indicated that she had a very close relationship with her.
She said, “The day she had her stroke I knew a huge chunk of her had gone… I wish things were so different! I miss her so much as much as she is right here with me…I pray for her healing daily and for that miracle.. I learn to love her unconditionally in her new state, it’s hard… it’s challenging because am still confused as to this ‘new normal’… I look for that chunk that was lost every day… happy birthday, warrior woman! My soul mate…come back to me.”
Top Kenyan model and cancer survivor Bidanya Barassa also encouraged her by writing, “Sending her birthday wishes and praying for healing.” Fashion blogger Silvia Njoki wished her a happy birthday saying they looked lovely. There were also several personalities in the comment section with the likes of Home Boyz Radio’s Sheila Kwamboka and gospel artist Kambua wishing Pinky’s mom a happy birthday.
The 42-year old media personality was made a UNHCR celebrity in November last year when the organization launched the LuQuLuQu Campaign. This was a collaborative campaign to promote the principles and values of oneness and responsibility in support of the displaced people of Africa.
