CELEBRITIES REACT TO PAPA SHIRANDULA’S DEATH WITH MOVING TRIBUTES
Celebrities have paid tribute to veteran actor Charles Bukeko popularly known as Papa Shirandula who passed on early today morning, July 18 at Karen Hospital after a short illness.
Rapper King Kaka called him a friend, “Very Good friend of mine. My heart breaks. Rest and peace to your family. Fly My Friend. Hii 2020 inanimaliza nguvu.”
Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) CEO Ezekiel Mutua remembered him for his contribution in the entertainment industry, “Rest in peace Charles Bukeko alias Papa Shirandula. You were a self-made man who epitomised the joy and optimism of Kenyans. You made a huge contribution to the entertainment industry in Kenya. We will miss you. May God give peace, comfort and strength to your family and fans.”
“I’m shocked! He’s the reason why y’all know me. Condolences to Papa Shirandula ‘s family. Thank you for Everything Papa! Rest in Peace 😭😭😭” posted Jalang’o. “I was no one until you came along. Inauma sana,” said comedian Otoyo.
“A sad day indeed. Charles Bukeko has gone to be with the Lord. My condolences to his family and friends. You lived your life to the fullest and shared the happiness and Laughter. The last time we were on stage together we really had a good time. Rest well Papa,” wrote Churchill.
Politician Kalonzo Musyoka said, “I am saddened to have learned of the demise of Charles Bukeko a.k.a Papa Shirandula. He was a talented actor and one whom I also enjoyed to watch. A sad loss for our great nation and the entertainment industry. May the Almighty God rest his soul on eternal peace. Kwaheri Papa!”
Starehe MP and musician Charles Njagua added, “My heart goes out to Charles Bukeko’s family. Papa Shirandula was a friend, a good man who helped me laugh in difficult times. He created content for the whole family, a shining light in the world of comedy. He joins Mzee Ojwang & the rest of the angels. Rest in peace my friend.”
