HE WAS A REBOUND, GRACE EKIRAPA EXPLAINS WHY SHE CALLED OFF HER WEDDING AFTER TRADITIONAL CEREMONY
Sassy Crossover 101 host, Grace Ekirapa has talked about the reason why she cancelled her wedding in April 2018.
She said, “2017 I went through rough break-up, after the relationship I was in for four years leading to marriage did not work.
That same year I got into another relationship and I was heading to marriage. 2018, I got engaged in February, March I did my traditional wedding and I was to get married on my birthday which is April 27.
The TV personality said she was not sure of the guy since he was a rebound after a bad break up, “I realised I was making a huge mistake, I wasn’t going to get into something I hadn’t thought through. I knew it wasn’t God’s idea for me, I was going get into something and hurt someone who didn’t need to be hurt.
The guys was in love, he was my friend but we were not good as a married couple because I had been hurt and I jumped into something. It was a rebound out of pain and I was rebelling to God, ‘I had kept myself all these years and I didn’t happen, so, I’m still gonna go and get married. I wanted to prove to people I can get married.’
I had 400 people on my traditional wedding, a week after I had a conversation with God. I was like, I can lie to everybody but I can’t lie to myself or you.
I took a break for two days and I went to pray and asked God to show me two things: To give me so much love that I would go knowing this is it or the courage to break up.”
After she cancelled the wedding people did not receive it well, “I came back and I called him and I broke it off, hell broke loose.
I was called all kinds of names and peopled didn’t understand, no one knew what I was going through and all they cared about was their perspectives and opinions.
I took a break, stayed in my house for a whole week crying, not eating or sleeping until the girls I mentor came home and said mummy this is enough, get up.”
