CINDY SANYU WAS NOT KICKED OUT OF BLU 3 SHE LEFT SAYS JACKIE CHANDIRU

By  |

If you were a fan of the original Blu 3 you certainly know the band members Jackie Chandiru, Lilian Mbabazi and Cinderella Sanyu.

In 2008, Cindy left the group unceremoniously and was replaced by Maya Buganda, later she claimed she was kicked out of the group.

Fellow bandmate Chandiru now says, Sanyu was not kicked out but left in her own free will after she received a record deal in Spain, “One of us was convinced by somebody that she could have a record deal in a different country, in Spain actually.

So, she went, at that time we had taken time off because we had been working so much, when she got there she realized as an African she could not have the kind of career that was promised to her.

That’s when she decided to contact us, but before that, she had told us that she was not coming back and she was going to settle there. When she found out it couldn’t happen that’s when called us and asked to come back and we definitely said yes.

At time we had contracts and there was no way me and Lilian could go onstage when we were hired as a group. At that point we were trying to think of a way to cover that issue, we tried to recruit somebody to fill up the space.

When she called us, we organised a flight for her, somehow, she did not board the flight. When she came back, it was a different story that she told that made us look bad, especially me.

Basically, she said that influenced her leaving the group, ‘she was kicked out of the group’ I was hated for a long time.”
