BRIDGET ACHIENG CALLS OUT NAIROBI DIARIES PRODUCER FOR DESTROYING HER CAREER
Gossip, backstabbing, scandals and fits of rage are some of the things that reality show Nairobi Diaries is known for. It’s a show that pulls on-screen and off-screen drama and former star of the show Bridget Achieng has revealed how her name was thrown in the mud by the producer, Janet Mwaluda.
In a series of Instagram stories, Bridget alleges that Janet used her to increase ratings of the show and tarnish her name.
“Nairobi diaries made me and broke me at the same time. Janet used my name like a tissue paper just for her show to trend. On several occasions, she told cast members that I liked being talked about fed them with lies. We can never burry the truth I repeat,” she wrote.
She continues, stating, “Still here God has blessed me with a son, businesses booming owning my home, I’m wiser and better all that shaded me in that show we can’t see them no more what happened?
The owner of the show is paying for her sins as days go bye, I won’t go in details but God will always fight for the weak most of the people in the show been asking for forgiveness in private I keep telling them go online where you destroyed my name before you come for private apology.
Janet used them to carry lies to the public and they fell for it now they are not booked neither are they busy. I forgive but forgetting is hard the battle now is for God not mine.”
Two years ago, BBC ran a documentary about a prostitution ring in Kenya and Bridget was at the center of it. It turned out to be false reporting on their part and BBC had to issue an apology to Bridget, “I still struggle with a few stuff here and there which is normal for any human being. I’m still fighting to recover my image that Janet destroyed on BBC.
He signed that they should post anything and use my image anyhow they want, the interview was all about my children home and my business, all of a sudden I was labelled that I sleep with old men for money something I don’t do, I’m recovering from this trauma till date so God’s will be done, may all our oppressors never know peace, may they pay with their last breath.
If you trolled me in public use the same energy when you asking for my forgiveness because bloggers write anything without doing research. Clear your mess before bringing me lame apology and to make it worse, Janet still owes me money till date she never finished paying me for destroying my name in public.”
Makeup artists Willy Collins, who was once part of the show has also defended Bridget’s, taking to social media to express his truth. “While we do expose on Nairobi Diaries and rant about our different personal experiences can we talk about the character assassination of Bridget Achieng?
When I joined the show, I found an ongoing storyline about her baby and baby daddy and jumped onto the moving bus. Production decides what storylines make the cut: We have no control over what storyline takes the lead.
Once you sign up for a show you basically allow producers to use your likeness and image as they please and it’s a risk we all take in the quest for success. A lot was said confidently by certain cast members so as a newbie you take is as the truth because Bridget wasn’t there herself to deny.
Janet is yet to comment on Bridget or Collins allegations.
