OZO SPEAKS ABOUT HIS INFAMOUS TIGHT SHORTS AND THE TYPE OF WOMAN HE WANTS
Popular Big Brother Naija Housemate Ozoemena Joseph Chukwu was evicted last weekend during a double eviction. He spoke to Buzz Central about his family, the type of girl he is into and why we might be seeing him in Nollywood.
Who is Ozo?
A young man who is constantly learning and evolving in life, my core values are based on family, friendship, humility, loyalty and love. I’m a huge sports enthusiast, I love entertainment and fashion.
You come from a family of well-educated career women and men, why didn’t you take the same path as your other family member?
My dad is a medical doctor and mom is a professor, two of my elder sisters are doctors and my small sister is a lawyer. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Masters in Financial Management. My parents have always let their children choose their path, they gave us the best tools but we decide what we want to be in life. They have never forced us into a specific career.
Sports is my life and I knew I was never going to be good enough to play professional football so I studied the game, the tactical analysis, business and professional side of sports, I tried to get meetings with people in sports industry but I never got the opportunity.
I decide to audition for big brother because I knew it will open more opportunities for me and help me achieve my dreams.
How was it meeting your mum after eviction?
Once I left the house, I felt really sad but someone showed me the car I won and I started feeling good, at that point, I was looking forward to meeting my family, friends and fans. My mum and sister have been seeing me on the screen it was really nice to reconnect with them especially mum.
Most ridiculous thing you have heard about yourself
That I lost focus because of my relationship with Nengi. But if I had done so then I wouldn’t have won as much as I did. At the end of the day, there will always be positive and negative. I take the positive which will help empower me.
Will see you taking up acting roles Nollywood?
I’m pretty much open to anything, if there is a place for me.
Why are you obsessed with tight shorts?
When I was at the university, it would get really hot during the summer, one day I decided to pull up my knee-length shorts to my thighs and I stayed with it the whole day, it was really comfortable. It just became my thing ever since fashion isn’t about looking nice but also being comfortable.
What your thought on the fight between Erica and Laycon?
That day I didn’t see it happening but from the video I watched she went overboard. I remember her asking me what I thought it and expressing that she was scared she might be disqualified. I just gave her my best advice which was to apologise and she did. I hope with time that has gone by she is able to see her mistakes.
If Nengi was evicted from the game who else would you have been interest with?
No one else, sometimes in life you need to be true with yourself. You can lie to everyone but the one person you can’t lie to is yourself.
What was it about Dorathy that made you strike a friendship?
She is someone that I became friends with from day one, I didn’t have a bed on the first night and she shared hers with me. For someone to sacrifice and help I will always be indebted to her.
You had a calm demeanor in the house, are you always unbothered?
It is something I picked up from my dad, he is really calm, and the environment I grew up shaped me to become the man I am today, when there is so much chaos, I have a difficult time.
Do you think Kiddwaya liked Nengi that’s why you nominated him several times?
The day he got evicted that was the first time we had a conversation, when I got the second strike, he pulled me to the side to talk and he warned me about getting the third strike and I might lose everything I won. I told him I didn’t understand his care free attitude and he explained to me why he was that way. I have no hard feelings at all.
When Nengi leaves the house and decides to continue with the relationship with her man, what kind of girl will you be looking for?
Someone that is positive minded and knows what they want. She should always want the best for me and be loyal and trustworthy. It is not about being light-skinned and having a good body.
Do you think pursuing Nengi sabotaged your game?
No, I didn’t have any game plan or strategy. It’s a reality TV show and I was living my life; the cameras happen to catch it. Now that I’m out, I’m not worried and I won’t do anything differently.
You were asked who do you think will win and you said Nengi, Dorathy or Laycon, why not your boy Neo?
Laycon definitely because I saw the numbers when I left the house but when it comes to who do I want to win its Nengi and Dorathy, it important for everyone to keep voting. I’m still cool with Neo and when I left the house, I gave him my pocket square, he will always be my guy.
