PR GURU & TV HOST CYNTHIA NYAMAI OPENS UP ABOUT HER DIFFICULT JOURNEY IN BUSINESS

By  |

Are you a fan of the TV show Kina? If you are, then you’re not the only one who’s glued to the addictive show. PR guru Cynthia Nyamai is a fan and she took to social media to talk about the similarities between the show and her own business journey.

When I started my business, I was young and naive and I met people who took advantage of that. Stole my ideas and when working with government made everything look complicated so I would use them as a middleman.

There are many a time I would bid for a job and richer ones who could afford to bribe would have our tender opened so they could bid lowest. At first, I thought I could beat the system so I reported the matter.

But it only made things worse. After spending and working for a tender which takes days sometimes weeks, only to have it handed over to someone who doesn’t need the job as much as you do. You quickly learn it’s a cruel world,” she writes.

Cynthia adds that she has grown and learnt her lessons, stating, “However I’m no longer young, so I have learnt many lessons and perhaps I should take up the role of mama Jonah and be intentional about empowering the youth after me.”
