SAUTI SOL CAUSES STIR ONLINE WITH THEIR ‘NO-GO ZONE BBI’ POST

Kenyan afro-pop band Sauti Sol is the latest to share thoughts on the Building Bridges Initiative report (BBI). The group posted on their Twitter handle saying, “BBI enyewe is a no go zone.”

Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) were quick to respond to their Tweet, “We all know Kenya needs a change and Somebody like you should have told us why we should not support it and after opposing it what options do, we have to be better than we are. Criticize yes but give us an alternative.” Said, Hesbon.

“I wish more artist would come out and oppose BBI…@JulianiKenya @OCTOPIZZO as much we love your music, we can’t afford to ignore the socio economic political & electoral issues that affect our countries. Our future is on trial.” Says Felix Muriithi.

“Bravo @sautisol musicians should participate in active national agenda wawache fence sitting, na tunajua watapata hizo signatures but we are not helpless guys it will go through a poll and we can vote a No.” read a tweet by Cherono Rotich.

“As Burna Boy, Davido and other famous artists are activists on social issues, these ones are playing MCA politics and are constantly taking sides on divisive issues. We should stick to running and leave the arts to others.” added Mopao Mokonzi.
