US-BASED KENYAN ACTRESS CHRISTINE WAWIRA MOURNS THE DEATH OF HER MOM
In a heartbreaking Instagram post, Kenyan actress Christine Wawira shared how difficult it is grieving the loss of her mom Miriam Wanjiru, who suffered a cardiopulmonary arrest on boxing day and passed on December 29.
“My sweet mother Miriam Wanjiru Njagi suffered a cardiopulmonary arrest the day after Christmas. She collapsed at the grocery store while she was with my younger brother. Paramedics were called and she was rushed to the hospital. My mom went without a pulse or heartbeat for 40 minutes while they attempted to resuscitate her. They got her heart beating again and put her on life support.
Sadly she has an anoxic brain injury and bleeding in her brain from the lack of oxygen and her organs are shutting down. The doctor says she has a 1 in a million chance of making it out of this situation and if she does, she will be in a vegetative state. My family and I have decided to just let mom rest and we are taking her off the machine today.
She is transitioning into nonphysical and is finally going to be at perfect peace. Free from the limitations and hardships of this world. Free from being confined in her physical form. She’s going home. Returning to Source.
She had just moved in with me and my kids 2 months ago and they are so affected by this. We miss her so much but I know she’s always with us. I have gained a very powerful guardian angel. I came from within her, now she’s going to be within me for the rest of my life. Her spirit will guide me and watch over me and my family.
Please pray for us. This is beyond devastating. We were just together 30 mins before this happened. We opened Christmas gifts together. It’s unreal. The pain of losing my mother is indescribable and unimaginable. I have never felt pain like this in my life.
You see the thing is, we think we have time. We are all here on borrowed time so love unconditionally, forgive easily and be in the moment. Live your life to the fullest.
Miss you so much mom. You can rest now. I will continue to be strong. Thank you for giving me life. I owe everything I am to you. Thank you for showing me what sacrifice, unconditional love, and forgiveness is. Thank you for loving me and my babies. You were the best mom and cucu I love you so much.
Thank you all for the outpouring of love. Thank you for the prayers. Thank you for crying with me. Thank you for encouraging me.”
