H_ART THE BAND’S MORDECAI MWINYI EXPLAINS WHY HE SHAVED OFF HIS SIGNATURE DREADLOCKS

H_art the Band is known for their dreadlocks and their signature dress code but the group’s lead singer Mordecai Mwinyi has ditched his signature dreadlocks for a new cleaner look.

Mwinyi debuted his new hairstyle online, he shared photos and a video of his new hairstyle and encouraged fans to give their opinion on his new look. “Comments fupi fupi please, he’s still adjusting to this new look #ImNotMyHair #FallenSoilders #teamH_artForever.”

“Aaahhhh Rasta kipara.” Musician Bensoul laughed at him. “Not you too Dex! Inaniuma more than mine but enyewe dreads zinaongezanga miaka.” Said Uhuru. “Gosh the kamba in you is in the frontline fighting against kipara,” added Karen Kinya.

Despite a series of backlash, the lead vocalist told Buzz Central, “It was painful losing the look and I got so many offers to auction my locks online,” he has revealed. “However, our EP is titled simple man and this is in preparation for a mature vibe by ‘simple men. We recorded most tracks at the height of the pandemic, so it has an absolutely passionate yet entertaining inclination,” they explained.

The EP which features established acts is produced by amongst others Cedo and is expected to drop in mid-March.
