SHEILA KWAMBOKA SHARES HER STRUGGLES OF BEING FAMOUS AND BROKE
Former Big Brother Africa contestant Sheila Kwamboka says after her first stint on the continental show she did not have money as many assumed.
The Vybez Radio presenter says she did not expect the fame that came with the show, “The first time I went for Big Brother I found myself in a show and I didn’t know people were skimming, I was just there having a good time. When I left, I didn’t expect the windfall of fame, everywhere I would go was Kwabox Kwambox Kwambox.
But I was broke, there worst you can be is to be famous with no money. I could not hide; I went to Uganda and still I could not hide. It was so bad, so, I got a job, one day when I was waiting for a matatu in Commercial Stage two chicks were talking about me, the whole time I was listening and they just looked at me.
It really shaped my character I got home and told my mum, she encouraged me and that got me where I am today. I don’t like matatu’s because I am tall and most of the time I don’t fit in the small space.”
