SHOCK AND SORROW: TANZANIAN CELEBRITIES REACT TO THE DEATH OF PRESIDENT JOHN MAGUFULI

Tanzanian celebrities have expressed shock over the death of President John Magufuli. The 61-year-old died on Wednesday, March 17, 2021. Magufuli’s death was announced by Vice President Samia Suluhu, who said the President died of heart failure.

While some artistes took to social media to send their condolences, others like Christina Shusho, Diamond Platnumz, Juma Jux, Zuchu, Ben Pol, Mboso, Rayvanny, Dulla Makabila, Khadija Kopa, Marioo and Joel Lwaga hit the studio to record a special tribute song for their departed President.

Musician Vanessa Mdee said, “Oh God, rest well our father. The mysteries of our time here belong to God alone. RIP President John Pombe Magufuli. Prayers for the people of the United Republic of Tanzania my home.”

Mbosso remembered him for his great contribution, “Surely We are Allah’s and to Him we shall return. We will remember you forever for your great contribution to the development of building our Tanzania.”

Tanzanian Actress Elizabeth Michaels wrote on her social media account, “Ooh God Please give us the grace to accept your will. There are times when it will hurt us. There are times when we may feel unworthy to pass through some passages. And there are times when things will be different from what we wanted. But in all of that if it is just your will eeh God give us the grace to receive and accept it because you are a God who always thinks good of us R.I.P Mr President,”

Mr president said it well. Rest in eternal peace baba,” said Wema Sepetu. Esma Platnumz shared, “Ooh God our father who is in heaven, why our great dad, why did you leave us, we still need you so much you have left us a big gap.”
