CONTENT CREATOR TATIANA KARANJA HOSPITALISED FOR PANIC ATTACK

By  |

Popular content creator Tatiana Karanja was reportedly treated at a Nairobi Hospital after having a panic attack. Tatiana says she was struggling to breathe and started to panic, “I couldn’t breathe very well then, I felt nausea. I started really struggling to breathe. I started to panic, my hands and face went numb with pins and needles sensation. My hand muscles tensed up and my hands and fingers got stuck in a certain position which was super scary.

More panic! as I couldn’t breathe and got an overwhelming sense of fear of the fact that I actually couldn’t breathe and fear of it getting to the point where I would just stop breathing! More panic meant less air! I was crying uncontrollably as I was so scared and fighting to get some breaths in which also meant less air! Dizziness, trembling, couldn’t talk properly, high blood pressure!”

She was rushed to hospital by her dad and sister and after 30 minutes she was feeling better, “These are the symptoms I experienced this morning when I got hit with a major panic attack! My dad and sister rushed to pick me up as I couldn’t move and rushed me to hospital where they wheeled me into a room and immediately tried to calm me down and get me breathing properly! The nurses were amazing and took care of me so well, within 30 minutes I was back to somewhat normal!

It was a really terrifying experience for me as well as a big learning experience for me. I’ve let the stress build up, I’ve let things affect me in ways that are crippling me, I’ve overworked my self and haven’t taken enough time to rest my body mind and soul. I remember thinking about my kid’s and trying to be strong for them!”

The mother of two vowed to slow down and take care of herself, “This served as a huge reminder that I need to slow down and take care of myself; I need to find a way to sort out my issues in a healthy way and I need to intentionally take my self care very importantly! It’s hard when you have mouths to feed, school fees to pay, and unnecessary stress from people that could be avoided but such is life and through the chaos of life we still need to take our health very seriously!”
