‘MY HUSBAND ENGAGED ME THE FIRST DAY WE MET’ VLOGGER CHINESE KIKI OPENS UP

LGBTQ activist and digital content creator Chinese Kiki opened up on how she met her ex-boyfriend who happened to be a German national.

Speaking on Switch TV’s Chatspot, she said that she met her former boyfriend on a dating app shortly before he visited her in Kenya and engaged her.

I dated a couple of Kenyan guys and I felt like it not my cup of coffee, then I downloaded a dating site and from there I met my ex-husband, when he came to visit me, he engaged me the first day we met,” she disclosed.

Kiki said a few days after getting to know each other, he used to send her money months before coming to Kenya, “He sent me money, Sh50,000, and then he came to Kenya after three months we met and he was like ‘maybe you can come visit me one time’, and that is when I went to Germany on a tourist visa and the rest is history,” she said.

However, after two years, Kiki and her ex-husband broke up on grounds that the relationship wasn’t working. “After living in Germany for like two years, one time I was like ‘this thing is not working,” said Kiki.

She then proceeded to look for another man on Tinder, where she met a Belgium national who later became her second husband.

After that I got into Tinder where I met my husband. He wrote me a message saying he wanted to meet me and later read my profile and said, ‘whatever you’re looking for you will not find’. He asked if we could meet for coffee and I kept him for a week. He drove all the way from Belgium to Germany. We met and we clicked and then we started travelling together from there,” she added.

Kiki also explained her passion for activism saying life in Europe was an eye opener for her and wondered why Kenyans were selfish to accept people the way they are.

I grew up in Kenya where these things are taboos and once I moved to Europe PDA is normal, people kiss. You go to a restaurant you find two men together, to women together. It was an eye opener for me and I told myself, we are so selfish to not accept someone the way they are and then think it’s all about you,” said Kiki.
