RISPER FAITH TELLS BITTER TRUTH ABOUT LIPOSUCTION

By  |

Former Nairobi Diaries star Risper Faith has narrated her experience after undergoing liposuction.  The mother of one explained that after giving birth, she grew a tummy and because she delivered through Caesarian Section (CS), she could not use waist trainers forcing her to consider liposuction.

The reason why I decided to do liposuction is because after giving birth I grew a tummy and it was so big that it was hanging. I used to use waist trainers and use body shapers but it was so uncomfortable for me, I was cautious about how I look and for me I love looking good,” she said.

She then went for consultations after which she was subjected to a series of tests. She was counselled and briefed about the procedure and on the morning of the surgery, she left home for the hospital where she was admitted shortly after arrival and taken in for the surgery that cost her Sh450,000.

I got into the surgery room where I was given options to either sleep or stay awake but of course you don’t see what happens during the surgery. I chose to stay awake so that I can see the activities around the theatre. I was injected a liquid called tumescent so that the doctor could easily pull the fat from my body,” she said.

Three hours into the five-hour surgery, Risper requested to be put to sleep and woke up four hours later. Her happiness came moments after waking up and realised her stomach was perfectly snatched. The following morning, Risper got up and said she was given a corset which is wrapped around her stomach despite the painful incisions.

The next morning I woke up, they gave me a corset despite having six incisions around my stomach, but luckily they also gave me pain killers to control the pain. If you’re in deep pain, they inject you on the thigh with substance that reduces the pain,” she said.

The socialite noted that she had to wear the corset for two weeks without removing it, adding that the only time she removed was when she had a massage therapy at the hospital. Risper explained that she was also advised to waist train for at least six months after the surgery.

“Liposuction is very painful, the first two weeks I felt like dying, I was just laying in bed thinking ‘what did I do?’ and the fact that I have to wear the waist trainer for a long time, that’s tiring. I couldn’t sleep, I just switched sleeping positions and and took so many painkillers, that was the challenging part for me.” she added.

She then embarked on the healing process, which she termed painful as she had wounds from the surgery, adding that she used to go for massage therapy everyday and the doctors massaged the wound areas. “When you get to the hospital, they first open the wound and massage the stomach so that they suck out the tumescent from your body. The massage is done for two weeks and its very very painful but it is important to remove that liquid from the body just to make sure you heal well,” said Risper.

After a month of rocking the corset, Risper was given a pressure garment which she wore all the time, explaining that it helped with healing and snatching her body further. “After two weeks or one month, they put you in this pressure garment that snatches your body and helps with healing. The worst part about liposuction is that you have to compress after the surgery I don’t know why. I stopped wearing the corset after three months,” she said.
