HOW JUA CALI MET HIS WIFE LILLY ASIGO

Celebrated singer Jua Cali opened up about his tremendous journey in the music industry. The singer says it was a dream come true when he first saw his graffiti on a matatu. “It was crazy, a dream come true because we used to see international artistes drawn and we didn’t imagine that Kenyans would decide to draw their own. It was an amazing feeling,” he said. 

Jua Cali also said that he met his wife, Lilly Asigo, at a show and later got her contacts through his manager after realising she was singing along to most of his songs word by word. “I met my wife at one of my shows. She was invited by her friend and she was not even supposed to come in the first place but her friend pressured her to come because I was performing and she used to like my songs.

While performing, I looked at her side and I saw a beautiful woman dressed in black and she was singing my songs word by word. After the show while at the backstage, she came for a photo and I asked my manager to get her number and after a week or so I called her and the rest as they say is history,” said Jua Cali.  

The celebrated singer also highlighted his contributions to Sanaipei Tande’s comeback to the music industry after she left and started hosting karaoke. “I look beyond the music. Sanaa has a likeable character to the point that if you see her in a video, you will conclude that she is a good woman and that is something that helps a lot of artistes. Sanaa is unique and she is also someone who has melodies. Those are some of the reasons and I told her ‘with Karaoke you’re wasting time, you are not supposed to be singing Karaoke, people like you‘,” noted Jua Cali.
