JOYCE LAY’S DEPARTED MOTHER LAID TO REST

Former Taita Taveta woman representative Joyce Lay’s departed mother Dyness Mwakalindo was on July 3 laid to rest in Taita Taveta County.

The politician shared videos and photos of the burial, “Mama’s funeral was glorious. Heaven received a new soul. I praise God for this miracle, of my husband receiving Christ as his personal savior. All glory be to God. It’s been quite a journey but I kept on praying for him, and trusting God for his salvation. God himself did it in his own way. Oh halleluya to God. Thank you Jesus,” Joyce Lay wrote on her Instagram page. 

This came a week after Lay celebrated her mother as a heroine and her source of courage on her birthday. She noted that her mother’s death will revive the warrior spirit in her, maintaining that nothing will stop her from becoming the person that she (mother) always wanted her to be.

“On this day Mama you gave birth to me. Little did you know, that you were carrying greatness inside your womb. On this photo, Mama you were still in pain but you could afford a smile. You taught me strength, in a way that I never imagined. I will tell of your great story to the whole world. A story of perseverance. A story of forgiveness. A story of faith. A story of victory. You are my heroine. My source of courage.

I will make you more proud Mama. I will go to higher heights for you, because you never knew defeat. You were my number one cheerleader. Your death has revived the warrior spirit in me. There’s nothing that will stop me, from becoming the person that you always wanted me to be… On my birthday, I celebrate because God chose you; to bring this gift to the world. It couldn’t be otherwise. You are blessed Mama even in your death,” she wrote. Mwakalindo took her final bow on June 23, 2021 after a long illness.
