RAILA JUNIOR AND WIFE YVONNE WAMBUI WELCOME NEWBORN ON IDA ODINGA’S BIRTHDAY

ODM leader Raila Odinga’s son, Raila Junior and his wife Yvonne Wambui are the new parents in town after welcoming a newborn baby. 

Through his social media pages, Raila Junior shared the good news, terming his baby’s arrival a birthday present for his mother, Mama Ida Odinga. He further expressed gratitude and thanked his wife for giving birth on his mother’s birthday. “She gave my mum, Ida Odinga, the best birthday present in the world. @yvejr1 Thank you and God bless you. I love you so much,” wrote Raila Junior. 

Coincidentally, the couple’s second born baby came as Ida was celebrating her 71st birthday. Reacting to the news, she stated that it was a special day for her, for she welcomed a new grandchild into her family on her birthday. “Wow, it was a special day. I thank you all for the warm birthday wishes and, most of all, I thank God for seeing me through over the years. It was a double treat for me as another grandchild was born into our family yesterday, an awesome birthday gift! I thank God once again,” she wrote.  

Years back, Raila Junior disclosed that he and his wife had unsuccessfully tried to have a baby for years until they were blessed wit their firstborn son. “I hope she (Yvonne) will allow me to disclose this. We’d been married for a long time and we weren’t able to get a child in the very first years. We struggled for a very long time for about four, five years and eventually God blessed us with our firstborn son,” he said at the time. 

Raila Junior had earlier penned a sweet message to mark his mother’s birthday, “Whatever makes you feel happy and loved Mama, that’s what I wish for you today. Happy birthday Mama. May the lord always be with you, protect you and strengthen you with his presence,” he wrote.
