‘WE MIGHT HAVE CONTRACTED THE VIRUS AT THE SAME TIME’ DADDY OWEN MOURNING
Musician Owen Mwatia popularly known as Daddy Owen is mourning his friend who succumbed to covid-19. In a social media post, the musician said it was hard coming to terms with his friend’s death, disclosing that they were both diagnosed with the killer virus at the same time.
“Last week I shared my experience with covid and how I recovered, I can only thank God unfortunately yesterday I lost one of my friend who didn’t make it. The hardest part is that we might have contracted the virus at the same time and the same place. Receiving and accepting the news today morning was one of the hardest things I have faced ths year. Praying for the family.” wrote Owen.
This came two weeks after the musician shared his experience with covid-19, in a lengthy social media post, the singer said he went to test for covid-19 after feeling weirdly tired and having a weird taste in his mouth. “One day after a very early morning work-out I felt weirdly tired. The first thing I decided to do was to get some good sleep, when I woke up later I felt some weird test in my mouth and immediately I knew it, this is COVID. Then when I went for the test I remember I was talking to the doctor and straight away I told him I have COVID even before the results came out,” he wrote.
He added that getting into isolation was hard but he made through it with the help of his mother. “Few days in after I started my self isolation I remember calling my mum telling her how hard it is for me just to sit and wait for the 14 days to be over without going to work and she replied and told me, ‘count yourself blessed, others are in hospital right now and they don’t know if they’ll make it’.
That was the moment I started to look at life differently. New curveball every season, I have seen it all this year! but through and through I still believe that my God has greater plans for me. Glory and honour to Jesus christ for my healing. Finally, I’m fine and going back to work,” he concluded.
