‘I CONDEMN ALL FORMS OF GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE IRRESPECTIVE OF WHO IS INVOLVED’ JANET MBUGUA ISSUES STATEMENT
Former news anchor Janet Mbugua has issued a statement following a viral video that showed her husband, Eddie Ndichu and his twin brother Paul Ndichu reportedly assaulting female guests at Ole Sereni Hotel.
In a tweet, the media personality condemned the incident, maintaining that justice must prevail. “I am saddened by increasing incidents of Gender-Based Violence(GBV). Over the last decade, I have joined my voice in efforts to #EndGBV. I condemn all forms of GBV irrespective of who is involved and will continue to speak out against it. We have laws in Kenya and justice must prevail,” wrote Mbugua.
Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai urged the victims to report the matter to the nearest police station for action. “We want an impartial investigation into the Ndichu twins, an edited video to make one party look like the victim is not acceptable sir. What Mwangi and crew need to show is the full video from the start,” wrote a social media user. The IG responded saying, “This incident should be reported to the nearest police station for action.”
In the video, one of the twins dressed in a white polo shirt is seen vandalizing the victim’s car’s side mirror before joining in the fight.
