NIKITA KERING SHINES AT AFRIMA AWARDS
Kenyan singer Nikita Kering’ has shared a hearty message after scooping two awards at the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) in Lagos, Nigeria over the weekend.
Through her social media platforms, the singer shared a photo holding the awards, appreciating her fans for the support. Nikita bagged the two awards after being nominated in three categories. Her first award was Best Female Artiste East Africa where she was competing with Spice Diana, Zuchu, Xeniah Manasseh and Karun.
Nikita’s second award was Best Artiste RnB and Soul where she was battling it out with Adekunle Gold, Tems, Wizkid, Gyakie, Omah Lay among others. “Thank you and AFRIMA awards. I didn’t do this alone, I did it with you. Thank you and thank God,” she wrote. Sauti Sol won the Best Group Awards.
Other Kenyans who represented well at the AFRIMA Awards include Shanah Manjeru who became the youngest award winner in the history of the event, shattering a record previously held by Nikita Kering.
