‘I DO MOST OF THE COOKING AT HOME’ SAUTI SOL’S POLYCARP TALKS ABOUT MARRIAGE

Sauti Sol’s guitarist Polycarp Otieno popularly known as Fancy Fingers and his wife Lady Mandy have established a special way to run their home. Speaking about gender roles on Man Talk Ke, Polycarp said he does most the cooking in his house, “With gender role its stuff that you agreed in your house, it doesn’t mean that the society says a man should not cook or take care of the baby so they shouldn’t or it can’t happen in your house.

We got married three years ago and that was the first time we lived together. There are roles that you take up as a man that suits you. In the house I cook most of the time than my wife, 90 to 80 percent of the time. That was a conscious decision and I love it and it doesn’t mean that because it’s a ‘woman’s’ job I shouldn’t do it. I am a fantastic cook.”

Polycarp also disclosed he has written seven more books, “Written in the stars is just book number one, me and my co-writer Melissa Wahu, we have written eight books and every song in the album is a book.
