MUSICIAN DOLA KABARRY GIFTS DAUGHTER BRAND NEW PRADO AFTER SCORING HIGH IN KCPE
Popular Benga musician Dola Kabarry has gifted his daughter, Sheryl Mikal a Toyota Prado after an exemplary performance in the recently released Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE).
According to his wife, Connie Kabarry, they had promised to buy their daughter a pricey car and a smartphone if she scored over 400 marks in the national examinations, which she did at Kitengela International School. “Yes, we promised her a big car and a Samsung phone of her choice if she gets 400 marks and above,” she said.
Taking to Facebook, Kabarry announced that his daughter had surpassed the 400 marks target as she scored an impressive 413 marks. He says that Sheryl had made him proud as a father, “I knew you were going to make us proud, my baby. I trusted you, and you have done it. Congratulations! 413 marks are more than what we expected. Thank you, God! I am super proud of you!” He wrote.
A promise is a debt. Following her success, the couple gifted Sheryl a Toyota Prado worth a Sh6 million and a Samsung phone that cost Sh150,000. The shop owner also gifted the young girl with Galaxy Pods worth Sh16,000. “You promised, and you delivered. We promised we had to deliver too. Congratulations again for getting 413 marks in your KCPE at Kitengela International School. Proud of you, my daughter! Enjoy your Machines.” Kabarry said.
After delivering on their promise, Connie urged parents to always honour their pledges whenever their children keep their end of the bargain. She says that they should negotiate on only what they are able to deliver. “Parents, let’s learn to keep our promises. Promise what you can afford. In some parts of Kenya, parents make the promise, then after the child has done his or her part, the parent becomes so harsh and temperamental when reminded,” she says. Sheryl Mikal hopes to land a place at the prestigious Kenya High School.
