DIAMOND PLATNUMZ REGAINS ACCESS TO SUSPENDED YOUTUBE ACCOUNT
Tanzanian musician, Diamond Platnumz, has regained access to his YouTube channel after it was pulled down on April 24, 2022, on grounds that it had violated YouTube’s community guidelines. “Thank you my Beloved….my Youtube channel is back, Enjoy my brand new video #wonder 🌍” posted Platnumz.
Speaking after securing the channel, Wasafi Digital administrator Majidi Ramadhani pointed out that it was hacked prior to its suspension by YouTube, and the hackers went live airing content – possibly pornographic – that is termed as prohibited by Google’s video-sharing platform.
“Diamond Platnumz YouTube channel was hacked last Sunday, and the hacker(s) proceeded to go live. The content that the hackers aired didn’t go down well with YouTube as it violated its guidelines, and that was the reason it was terminated,” Ramadhani explained.
He further noted that YouTube had caught wind of the illegal activities and flagged the channel before sending them emails to notify them about its closure. It also demanded an explanation on why they had violated the community rules that seek to protect the consumers from accessing indecent content. They gave them their feedback, and luckily, they retrieved the channel on April 25, 2022.
Ramadhani says that the Bongo Flava star has incurred significant loss following the 24-hour suspension as his music was inaccessible for viewing by the fans. “Definitely with such activities, there is a significant amount of money lost. But what is important is securing the channel and having it back.”
Diamond Platnumz’s channel has over 6.6 million subscribers and over 1.7 billion views across all his uploaded videos. He made history by becoming the first artist from Sub-Saharan African to clock over a billion views on YouTube.
