‘I ALMOST GAVE UP ON LIFE’ SIZE 8 OPENS UP ON ILLNESS
Gospel musician Linet Munyali, popularly known as Size 8, has for the first time shared her journey with high blood pressure. In a YouTube video, Size 8 disclosed that she was first diagnosed with the disease in January 2015 when she had collapsed and was rushed to the hospital, where she was put on medication to alleviate the condition.
“I remember very well. It was January 31, 2015, when I collapsed in town just after coming from a certain event. I was rushed to an inpatient hospital, where the doctors said that my blood pressure was too high. From there, I was prescribed drugs to tackle the disease. I have been in and out of the hospital so many times, and the journey has been tough,” she narrated.
She says that her condition worsens during pregnancy but she has been able to ride through all challenges because of the inner toughness that pushed her from giving up. Size 8, who is currently recuperating, credited the success to God and a good support system, “DJ mo kept telling me to fight on. He is hardcore. I would have given up completely. One day, I told my husband that I was almost giving up. He told me I must keep fighting. I almost gave up on life. I was tired of fights in life,
I thanked God for His grace and mercy. I thank God for Mo. It was not easy for me as I was depressed, tired of fighting, and almost giving up. I used to lock myself in the room, and I kept on talking to God. I was physically sick, and my heart was giving up. I used to have a headache, and I couldn’t even play with my kids.” She said.
Size 8 noted that she opted to share her story with people to encourage and uplift them. She stated that everyone faces trials, and people should never give up because there is always a way to navigate through all challenges of life.
