MUSICIAN EVELYN WANJIRU EXPECTING FIRST CHILD AFTER 10-YEAR WAIT

Gospel musician Evelyn Wanjiru is expecting a child after 10 years of marriage with her husband, Agundabweni Akweyu. 

The Asante crooner took to her social media pages to share the news with her fans and she described her journey as full of prayer and waiting, “Today, my heart is full of joy and gratitude. As I write this, my eyes are full of tears. I have been waiting for this season for 10 years in my marriage. A blessed womb, God has fulfilled His promise in our lives.”

She encouraged couples who are hoping to be blessed with babies by reminding them that they should not give up regardless of the trials and temptations that may come along with the period of waiting. She noted that they should always include prayers as with the Lord, everything is possible. She called her husband as a special gift from God because he has unceasingly embraced and stood by her in their wedlock.

“I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of Him. I pray for every couple who are almost giving up. Look at us and see what the Lord has done. Friends and family, I tell you; There’s a distinct difference, anybody can be a father, but it takes a special man to be a dad. This man right here @agundabweni is a gift from God to me.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but I was hungry enough to wait for that promise to be manifested in my life. You don’t get what you pray for. You get what you’ve waited for “because those who wait upon the Lord are like Mt Zion, they shall mount up with wings like eagles.” While we were waiting, we kept on singing Praises to Him. We kept on encouraging others, yet we were also asking God questions. “Where are you? Until when, how many more doctors shall we see?” She said, quoting the Bible verse 1 Samuel 1:27.

“Then I would hear a voice saying. Get encouraged. The measure of your temptation is equal to the measure of your blessings. So fight your battle delightfully, for after every test, there is a testimony, and after every victory, there is a prize.” She added.

Speaking in a past interview, Wanjiru had opened up that she was unable to conceive due to a medical condition that interfered with her hormonal balance. She said that people had criticised her since they had stayed so long in marriage without a child, “People don’t know my struggle. People don’t know how many times I have tried to have a baby. It hurt me. But my husband told me, ‘Why should other people stress you and I haven’t stressed you? Let’s wait upon God as He is the one that gives children.’ We are waiting for God’s time, I know it has been 7 years, but we know God will do something,” an emotional Wanjiru had narrated.
