ACTOR MALIK LEMMY IN NEW TV SERIES FLASH SQUAD

By  |

Kenyan actor Malik Lemuel, famous for his role as Govi in the Citizen TV kids show Machachari, has bagged a role in the new teen sitcom series dubbed ‘Flash Squad‘ on Akili Kids TV.

Another one in the bag! Talk about diversity. One of the best sitcoms, coming soon on @akilikids_tv. Get ready folks! @flashsquad_ke Congrats to the cast and crew.” Malik announced.

He is set to star alongside actors Timo Wachira, Irene Kamau, and Tessy Njine, among others, in the show that premiered on May 26 and is set to run every Friday at 7:30 pm. “Tonight was lovely @flashsquad_ke premiere was epic!! Congrats to the cast and crew. Catch Flash Squad on @akilikids_tv every Friday at 7:30 pm #youngbillionaire.” He wrote.

This comes merely a year after the 22-year-old talented actor disclosed that he had battled severe mental health issues after Citizen TV terminated Machachari, which was his only source of income. “I was still earning for some months after I quit the show, but somewhere the money ended. I started spending my time alone. I was used to waking up early, but that life was not there anymore,” he revealed.

Malik also said that ‘celebrity’ friends dumped him as they thought he was using drugs, and opportunities became limited, but he is thankful that his mother and the church stood by him, and he managed to thwart the frustrations owing to their help. “It took one year, and it ended. I think it was anxiety, and anger, and it is hard to explain. I felt like I was running mad. I believe sharing it will help someone.”
